TACTICS

Ocean lions attack on sight, either for food or to defend their territory, and use both claws and teeth to grab and rend their prey. They display tremendous courage, always fighting to the death, even against creatures many times their size. Pairs and prides of sea cats attack in concert, trying to wear the opponent down until one beast can dispatch it.

Ocean lions prefer shallow coastal waters and occasionally come in conflict with humanoid fishermen, sharks, and sahuagin. They prefer to lair in sunken ships, aquatic caverns, and ruins left by intelligent aquatic races. While their regular diet consists of sea birds, aquatic mammals, and large fish, they have been known to devour nearly anything they can overpower.

Ocean lions are belligerent and territorial, attacking intruders to their expansive realms with little forethought. The only creatures they seem unwilling to attack are dragons larger than themselves.

A typical ocean lion weighs 750 lbs and is 11 feet long.
